Whenever you shop, you always look at the packaging of the product first. Sometimes, you check the label. At other times, you pick up the product, read the print, and inspect it thoroughly. That is why it is important to have pertinent information placed on a product’s packaging. These days, customers always want to know.

 Glass Bottles

Now imagine this: you’re wandering down the shopping aisles but everything has no label. All items sold are just in a white box or a plain bottle without anything printed on it. What would you do? High are the chances that you won’t go back to that store again.

Why Labeling Is Necessary

Labeling is something that attracts people to buy. If they don’t know anything about your product yet, then their only basis for buying is whatever is on the label. This is why you want the packaging of your product to be impressive.

If your product comes in a bottle, like perfumes, oils, bottled food items, and similar items, then you actually have the choice of having your label directly printed on the bottle using the silk screen process. This method is called bottle screen printing.

A Closer Look at Bottle Screen Printing

Screen printing on glass bottles is performed by applying some ink on the bottle using a screen. The printer will place a mesh pattern on the screen and then it will pump some ink through the mesh. That will produce the image or label directly on the bottle. This method is also referred to as the silk screen printing process.

Bottle screen printing is actually a cost-effective solution if you are using limited colors on your label and you need volumes of these bottles for those long-run productions. This process is quite popular because it’s tactile, versatile, attractive, and durable. Here are more of the advantages of this process:

  1. Clean

Printed screen bottles look clean and professional. Oftentimes, silkscreened bottles use only one to two colors. There are not a lot of going on in your label so it’s easy to direct the consumer’s attention right where it should be.

  1. Durable

Compared to paper labels, bottle screen printing is a lot more durable. It won’t scuff or weather away. It is also unaffected by water and UV light. The ink printed on the bottle is also resistant to most chemicals.

  1. Striking

Opaque colors can be used for this process. A lot of brands prefer this, especially if they want to print on clear bottle containers. Opaque colors tend to stands out better than the standard inks that are used on labels. Flexo inks aren’t as opaque because they have low viscosity. Silkscreen inks, on the other hand, pop like magic.

  1. Textured

If you want to add any special texture on the print, that’s possible. There’s a process called high-build silkscreen where the screen is purposely raised to give the printed characters some texture that can be felt.

  1. Affordable

If you have large volumes of bottles to be printed, then this is the more economical choice for you. Bottle printing technically uses just one process to create the finished goods. Once that initial process is done, the succeeding orders are a breeze.
